We’re big fans of a cool backsplash and subway tiles so it was a no-brainer to feature Anna’s kitchen remodel over at askannamoseley.com. As you will see from the “before” image below Anna’s kitchen has gone through an amazing transformation and what’s truly remarkable is the way this new look has been created using most of the pre-existing units…talk about recycling!
A rather dated and ostensibly brown kitchen is now a slick black and white affair and we think the difference is outstanding. Rather than go into all aspects of this remodel we want to focus today on the classy and on-trend subway tiles that Anna used for her backsplash. One of the benefits of using subway tiles for a backspalsh is the way you can take them, as has been done here, right up to the ceiling. Most backsplash tiles wouldn’t look right anywhere other than just a couple of feet above your countertops but subway tiles can cover a whole wall if you like and not look out of place.
If installing subway tiles yourself sounds a bit daunting we don’t blame you…it is daunting! But Anna gives some great tips to make the installation a whole lot easier. So feel the fear and do it anyway!
