Having a storage building in your back yard can really come in handy especially if you don’t have a garage. Outdoor storage sheds, depending on the size, can be used to store everything from lawn and gardening equipment, sports equipment and if large enough, a riding lawnmower. Even if you do have a garage it’s nice to keep the area where your cars need to be parked uncluttered.
Most larger storage sheds will have a concrete foundation because they need a strong floor to support heavier walls and roofs. But with smaller sheds, it is fine to go with a wood floor and although not advisable, you can forgo a floor altogether. Small storage sheds can easily be built by a homeowner, but for larger sheds it is best to have it custom built at your location. Since all cities and states have different laws and regulations, always make sure you confirm whether or not you need a building permit for your storage building.
