Compare Sunroom Ideas and Sunroom Addition Costs

Years ago, sunrooms were actually what we now call screened in porches; built to keep out insects and pollen during the spring and summer months. We’ve come a long way since that time and now our sunrooms have become glass enclosures that are an extension of the living space in our homes. A sunroom is the ideal place to unwind but still feel like you are enjoying the outdoors, even during the winter months.

Many homeowners use their sunroom as an extra dining area, den or living room, and with the increasing number of individuals now working from home, they are used as home offices.

Although designed to be used all four seasons of the year, there are sunrooms that are called “three season” rooms, and have at least one wall that you are able to open completely to the outdoors. Sunrooms are generally not a do it yourself project as they will include the need for several different types of contractors from building, flooring to electrical. However, if you have building experience, there is no reason you can’t build your own.
